Therapy Dog at Clove
Hi! My name is Buckeye!
I’m a therapy dog, a standard Goldendoodle, and I’m told that I’m one of the best. I was born on August 4, 2022, in the small town of Bluffton, Ohio. My family said I was a good pup, but they didn’t have time for an active young lad like myself, so I went to live with my new mama when I was 5 months old.
When mama introduced me to her coworkers, they all agreed I would make a great therapy dog because of my calm and gentle spirit. I didn’t know what that meant, but they said I could go to work with mama and get lots of pets and cuddles, so I jumped in! Sometimes when people are sad they come see me and say that I make them feel better. I love making people happy and seeing them smile! Mama and I had to go through a lot of training to become a therapy dog team, and training came with a lot of treats (for me), sweat (mama’s, not mine), and tears (also mama’s). But I graduated in April 2024 and I’m official now!
When I’m not working hard, I LOVE playing. I will play fetch for hours and I love going on walkies with my mama, her friends and my best dog buddies. I’ve never met a chew that I can’t destroy or a stuffed animal that I didn’t love (everyone is surprised that I don’t tear those apart). Sometimes I just carry my emotional support ball (or snowman) around in my mouth. I love seeing all of my Clove Alliance coworkers and visiting their offices, especially the ones who have treats or leave their lunch on their desks!
I can’t wait to meet more friends through Clove Alliance and I’m honored to help bring hope and healing to survivors!
