Students Against Sexual Harassment (SASH)
Students Against Sexual Harassment (SASH) is a student-led group committed to ending sexual violence and changing social norms in high schools. The committee is composed of students from different high schools across the Kankakee and Iroquois counties who meet and plan social events for their peers to raise awareness about sexual harm.
Long Term Goals
- Build and develop student leadership skills
- Challenge social norms that perpetuate sexual violence
- Normalize and destigmatize conversations about sexual violence
- Reduce violence and harassment in schools
Educate & Empower
SASH groups educate students about sexual harassment, sexual assault, and how to support survivors of sexual violence. They also empower students to raise awareness about sexual harassment and sexual assault, and to support survivors of sexual violence through student-led activities.
At A Glance
SASH groups meet 1-2 times each month. They participate in learning sessions, plan upcoming events and activities for their peers, and lead awareness campaigns for their schools.
