40-hour Sexual Violence Crisis Intervention Training: Spring 2025
April 28th to May 21st
Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:30 pm, and two Saturdays, May 3rd and May 17th, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Clove Alliance is offering a comprehensive 40-hour Sexual Violence Crisis Intervention Training this Spring at our main office (1440 West Court Street, Kankakee, IL 60901). This training benefits anyone who wants to better understand sexual violence and how to support survivors. It is also a requirement for those who wish to volunteer with our organization. Through sessions led by Clove Alliance staff and subject matter experts from the community, attendees will learn to:
- Respond to survivors with sensitivity and support
- Recognize issues influencing different types of sexual violence
- Understand the medical and legal rights of survivors
- Apply theories of rape culture
- Utilize person-centered practices and more!
The upcoming session will run from April 28th to May 21st, on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:30 pm, and on two Saturdays, May 3rd and May 17th, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm., and is supplemented with 12 hours of independent study.
Upon completion, participants earn a certification in Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention from the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault and can volunteer with Clove Alliance in various capacities.
