Free Legal Services Help Survivors Access Justice and Healing
Survivors of sexual violence deserve safety, dignity, and support — including while they navigate the legal system. Clove Alliance is proud to welcome Attorney Neeley Regas as a partner in providing free, professional legal representation to survivors of sexual violence in Kankakee, Iroquois, and Ford counties.
With deep expertise in trauma-informed advocacy, Regas helps survivors overcome obstacles to justice and take steps that protect their rights and well-being. Her work ensures that survivors have access to compassionate legal guidance close to home.
“Survivors of sexual violence often face legal challenges that can feel overwhelming and isolating,” said Tracey Noe-Slach, Executive Director and CEO of Clove Alliance. “Neeley’s expertise and her commitment to treating every client with dignity and respect make her a strong advocate for survivors.”
A Compassionate Approach to Legal Advocacy
Regas’s legal practice is guided by empathy and empowerment. Her goal is to make the legal process easier to access for people who have experienced trauma.

“Legal representation helps eliminate barriers to justice… It’s a powerful way to support victims and empower them to lead in their own recovery.”

“The legal system is intimidating and not something most people navigate on a daily basis,” Regas explained. “Courthouses and their services must be accessible to everyone. Legal representation helps eliminate barriers to justice for survivors. It’s a powerful way to support victims and empower them to lead in their own recovery.”
Regas provides support with a range of legal issues related to a survivor’s victimization, including:
- Protective orders, such as civil no contact orders, stalking no contact orders, and domestic violence orders of protection
- Victims’ rights during criminal proceedings
- Housing issues, such as eviction and housing authority concerns
- Employment issues, including sexual harassment or discrimination complaints
- Education issues, such as Title IX school discipline hearings
These services are offered free of charge to survivors as part of Clove Alliance’s holistic approach to healing.
Breaking Barriers to Justice
For many survivors, seeking legal help can feel like another uphill battle. Regas knows daunting roadblocks prevent too many survivors from getting the help they deserve.
“Challenges like a lack of access to language translation services and attorneys or courthouse personnel who aren’t properly trained to support victims with physical or intellectual disabilities can leave survivors feeling unseen. My goal is to bridge those gaps with understanding, advocacy, and compassion.”
As both an attorney and a lifelong member of the Kankakee County community, Regas brings professional skill and a deep sense of personal commitment to her work.
“It’s my personal and professional obligation to advocate for and assist victims of sexual violence so they have equal access to the legal system,” Regas shared. “Survivors’ voices and stories deserve to be heard, believed, and respected — not only within the legal system, but in society as a whole.”
Hope and Healing
When asked what gives her hope in this work, Regas doesn’t hesitate.
“The strength and resilience of survivors give me hope to persist in working and partnering with all victims,” she said. Every survivor she meets reminds her why this work matters.
Clove Alliance is a trusted resource for survivors and their loved ones across Kankakee, Iroquois, and Ford counties. Regas’s partnership and skills reinforce our commitment to improving the quality of services and supports for survivors and building a community where every survivor has access to justice and healing.
